It's that time, dinner parties, gatherings with family or friends and work parties galore! You have probably already been to a few events where dressing up was half the fun of going! But with all this commotion and rush, it's easy to slip up and wear something you may regret later. (You know, when checking out the pictures on Facebook.) With that said, here are some holiday fashion don'ts:
Go easy on the sparkles. Avoid looking like a Christmas decoration by overdoing the sparkles. Try to keep the glitter to one key item, whether it be a glitzy dress as the focal point or flashy shoes. Then keep the rest of your outfit clean and simple. Dress Appropriately Thinking about wearing jeans to a Christmas party or holiday gathering? I would instead suggest wearing a dress. If you aren't a huge fan of wearing a dress in this cold weather (I can't blame you there), at least opt for a pair of nice black slacks paired with a satin top. Your look says a lot about you, so make sure you look well put-together and somewhat dressy. Cover up It's nearly winter, meaning skin is not in this season! Avoid dresses that bare your midriff, skirts and dresses that are too short or a top that shows to much cleavage. Don't Complicate Things We have so much going on during the holidays. Instead of buying multiple party outfits, invest in a little black dress or neutral colored top and use accessories to change the look. Adding tights or different colored jewelry can really change the style of a basic neutral outfit or LBD.
Avoid a Red Overload When we think of red, we think of Christmas! But that doesn't have to translate over to your attire. Instead of investing in a lot of red clothes, stick to the basics and let your accessories make your holiday statement by choosing a red scarf or red pumps. Wearing too much red, including red lipstick, can just make you look silly.
