The suspense is building as we near the grand finale where the designers who've made it though each grueling challenge will showcase their best work at Mercedes Benz fashion week. I can not wait!

I'd have to say tonights' episode had to of been my favorite thus far for season 9. We all spend the entire season getting to know the designers - their strengths, weaknesses, their style and few and far between, glimpses into their personal lives.

The four remaining designers sit huddled together next to the runway when Heidi comes out and informs them that this is pretty much it!  Tim later joins her and together they both announce the designers are to create a 10 piece collection in 5 weeks on a $9,000 budget. Kimberly, Viktor, Josh and Anya all look so very very anxious, as I would be too put in their situation. But how exciting is that? I would love to be able to take 5 weeks to live and breath designing clothes and for that to be my only focus. Maybe someday. But until that day, I will continue to write this recap. *smiles*

As I had mentioned earlier, this is one of my favorite episodes of each season. Tim gets all dressed up in his suit and travels to the designers homes and studios, where he helps guide them along their path to show at fashion week. Remember, there are only 3 designers who are supposed to make the cut and there are 4 designers left.

First stop for Tim was to White Plains, Maryland to visit Kimberly. Her collection is inspired by Brooklyn. Think urban girl transformed. She uses bright colors mixed with unusual prints. Tim is okay with her concept and really doesn't have a whole lot of advice to give.

Next up, Tim is Trinidad bound to visit Anya. Oh Tim, I laughed when I saw him walking down a wooden plank by the ocean in a full-blown gray suit. You know he has to be uncomfortable considering it is probably 90 degrees. But, there he is ready to critique Anyas' work..wait..what work? Anya claims she has been in a rut. While she has the fabric picked out, she seriously had nothing to show to Tim, not even something as simple as a few drawings. Of course her 10 piece collection is going to be inspired by the Caribbean. But she still couldn't manage to get herself in gear and get going. Tim was disappointed and told her she better just live in her workroom.

Sadly, Tim didn't get to travel around as much as previous episodes because Viktor resides in NYC and Joshua in Queens. Viktor was eager to meet Tim and both felt very confident in his direction. The inspiration for Viktors' collection was "urban coast", inspired by a trip to Mexico he took with his late brother. Viktor took some amazing pictures while he was in Mexico and brilliantly used those photos not only as inspiration but as the print in some of the designs. I was impressed with what he had completed so far and I am super excited to see what else he has up his little rolled-up sleeves.

Josh, on the other hand, didn't have such a good visit with Tim. His fabric choices were just horrible. Tim described them as gimmicky and cheap. Tim stated that the collection made him want to weep. Yikes! Between all the bad things Tim had to say, I would be in a tizzy if in Joshs' situation. That was a bad critique. Really bad.

Skipping a few weeks and now we are back in the designers new work room. While unveiling their collections, each designer talks smack about the others. What do you expect? It's Project Runway! The designers were then told they are going to be showing 3 of the 10 looks that will be the strongest representation of their collections that day.

Luckily, Josh trashed most of the looks Tim saw during the critique at his studio in Queens. Anya retreated to her comfort zone after struggling with her collection. This left Tim a little disappointed with her.

The judges who happen to just be the regulars, Kors, Heidi and Nina are ready to see what the designers have in store for them.

The verdict?

Kimberly got mixed reactions from the judges. Kors said she had great sex appeal to her clothes, although they weren't revealing. Heidi hates the skirt that looked as though it had a butt implant. I second that. But all three judges did agree that she over styled the models with excessive jewelry, bright purses and crazy cobalt blue colored pumps.

Anyas' 3 looks also brought on the mixed reactions, although most of them were not so good. The first dress she showed was probably her strongest look but the wool bathing suit wasn't a hit. In my opinion the satin dress was the worst, because it showed every flaw and the styling was just not Anyas' best.

Josh said his goal was to play with innovative draping and unusual cuts. I liked his looks and it seems as though with the judges constantly telling him to edit edit edit the entire season, he finally paid attention.

I had to save the best for last. As mentioned before, Viktor used pictures from his trip to Mexico with his late brother in his designs. This could have gone really wrong but he made it work. Tim should be proud. Heidi even takes the jacket he designed off the model to try it on. The only real issue the judges had with the collection was that it needed to be edited down. There was too much going on. I agree, but I am loving everything that he showed. A see-through top with glass as the embellishment? Simply amazing.

After the judges have the famous "chat", they call the designers back to the stage and after the dramatic music and long pauses, Viktor, Josh and Kimberly make the cut. They are going to fashion week!

Oh but then there is the twist. Is there ever an episode without a twist? Never.

Anya gets to go too. What do you think? Should they have eliminated someone?

Next week is it! *sniff sniff* The grand finale and showing at Mercedes Benz fashion week and the season is over.

On a side note, we are getting closer to Project Runway All-stars and Project Accessory. Things just keep getting better!
