You thought I was kidding when I titled this story "Babies in Pumpkins," right? I wasn't joking. Let me first start off by saying my son was in no way harmed or hurt while taking these pictures. Towards the end he really seemed to be content hanging out inside the pumpkin! Here is how this all went down. My husband comes home from a trip to Home Depot with this huge pumpkin, bragging about how it was such a good deal. (The pumpkin was $7 - not to shabby!)
As it sat there on the kitchen table, there was a moment on silence. We both looked up, into each others eyes, then back down to the baby, who was content playing with his favorite book on the living room floor. We then both took another glance at the pumpkin. We knew at this point what was going on in each others mind. There was no second guessing. Our son was about to have one of the cutest photo shoots ever. We still wanted to carve a jack-o-lantern as planned, but figured this $7 pumpkin can be used duel-purposely. So without hesitation, the carving began.
In the top right picture above, you can see that we cut the pumpkin into three pieces. We wanted to create a piece that we could use as a hat so to speak. Even though we carved the inside of the "hat" to curve around our little ones' head, it didn't quite stay on as we would have liked it to. We even tried attaching it with ribbon. Needless to say, that didn't work. Either way, we still were able to capture a few adorable moments with the top of the pumpkin ungracefully sitting on his little fuzzy head.
And we thought, while not let our cat have in on the fun too? Okay, maybe we took advantage of the fact that he is pretty mellow and will at this point, allow us to do almost anything with him. Either way, we all had some great laughs, including the neighbors!
