When we are on the subject of skin & beauty, there are thousands of products out there.
But do they really work? Instead of spending gobs of money on products that just may or may not show results, try using these great alternatives instead. Not only will you save yourself a lot of money but also these are tried and true tips!

Get yourself a little container of Vaseline
In the winter months, Vaseline can become your new best friend. Dabbing a little on your heels before putting your socks on can prevent your feet from getting super dry and scaly. Vaseline is also great for fixing chapped lips. Slather on a generous amount to your pout, then use a toothbrush to massage the Vaseline into your lips. Wipe off the excess using a tissue and your lips will be left feeling amazingly smooth and soft!

DIY Bath Scrub
You don't have to spend a ton of money on store bought scrubs.  You can make your own by simply mixing a little bit of brown sugar with honey to create a paste that you can then use in the shower to exfoliate.

Invest in Rockaholic
If you heard the radio segment about my and Holly Morgans' favorite inexpensive beauty secrets on Q102, you probably overheard us talking about Rockaholic. It is a dry shampoo by Tigi that not only smells delicious but really works!

Lather up for Less
Replace your fancy body wash with a nice smelling bar of soap. Bars of soap are a lot less expensive, lasts for what seems like forever and you can still get them in your favorite scents. I am in love with Bath & Body Works great scents but instead of buying the wash, I try and buy the same scent in a bar. It is a lot less expensive and you still get to enjoy your favorite smell.

Use your perfume to the very last drop
Don't you hate when you get to the very bottom of your favorite scent...you know, where it won't spray anymore?  A great solution is to pour those last remaining drops from the perfume bottle into an unscented moisturizer to extend the perfumes use.

Who needs makeup remover anyway?
Johnson's baby shampoo is an effective and gentle way to take off your eye makeup. Just remember to get the No More Tears formula. Not only is it A LOT less expensive than your average bottle of make-up remover but it more than likely will last you about 10 times longer.

Get your Glow on
Get beautiful glowing skin by mixing a pinch of metallic eye shadow into your face lotion. It will warm your complexion and give you that beautiful glow you were looking for even in the dead of winter.

Ditch the clarifying Shampoo
Have product build up in your hair? Save money by adding two tablespoons of plain ol' baking soda into your favorite shampoo. It works like a charm and will leave your hair build-up free!

French Manicure Quick-Fix
When you took the time to have your nails look their best with a beautiful French manicure, the last thing you want to sport is chipped polish. That is where white out can come in handy. Save time and money by touching up small chips with a teeny tiny dap of white out instead of heading back to the salon.

Loose the fly-aways.
If you have fine hair like mine, it is sometimes inevitable to control those pesky little fly-aways. But one thing I have found that helps control them is using a dryer sheet and lightly running it over my hair. Not only will your hair smell amazing all day, but you will be fly-away free! This can also work to calm a case of the frizzies!

Allergic to fake jewelry?
Use these two simple yet effective steps. First, wash your faux jewelry with rubbing alcohol. Then, coat the backs of the jewelry with a little bit of clear fingernail polish.

Hydrogen Peroxide can equal to pearly whites
A very inexpensive way of removing yellow stains from your teeth is by creating a paste made of hydrogen peroxide and baking powder. Brushing it on daily just as you would toothpaste will help brighten your smile!
