One of the most common questions I get from readers week in and week out is about using digital coupons at Kroger. This post originally ran in February and answers a lot of the most common questions.   Digital coupons are a brand new concept to many people, so I thought I'd put together a breakdown of the ins and outs of Kroger's Digital Coupon program.  Or, skip to the bottom of the page, where we've got a How-To video to walk you through the process of how to use digital coupons at Kroger! What are digital coupons?Digital coupons are non-paper coupons that are loaded to your Kroger Plus card, then redeemed automatically when you buy the product. Kroger has a digital coupons section on their website.   How do I load digital coupons?Head over to Kroger.com, and either login or register an account with your Plus card.  Once you're signed in, open their digital coupons page. Select the digital coupons you are interested in, and then click "Add to Card."  Done!  Now, wasn't that simple? Why are digital coupons something I'd want to use?Because they are the easiest form of couponing. Point and click, then shop and save! No coupons to collect, print, cut or keep track of. Nothing for the cashier to enter. Simply buy the right product for the coupon, then hand the cashier your Plus card as usual when you shop. The rest is digital--it comes off automatically! Are there any rules or limits I need to know about?

• Digital coupons are one-time use only.  
• They are face value only--they do not double.  
• They are manufacturer coupons, therefore they cannot be combined with coupons from the paper on the same product. 

• There is a limit of 150 coupons loaded onto one card at any time, so don't just go click and add every product--as there is no way to remove the coupons once they're added, except to use them.  
• The digital coupons are often available on their website for a short time, disappearing from public view after a certain time. But they are still valid on your card--so add the best coupons quickly. You'll be able to use them the next time you're in the store.
• If you have forgotten what coupons you've added, you can login to Kroger's website and click the "My Coupons" tab to see the coupons you have available.
• Watch your local Kroger store for new digital coupon terminals and displays. Many stores now have them in the aisles making it easier to add digital coupons for items you are purchasing. Simply scan your card and add the coupons you want.
• To verify your digital coupon was applied, look at your receipt.  It will be listed right under the product on your receipt.
• If you know you're going to use a paper coupon on a product and have a digital coupon loaded to your card, I suggest you remove the digital coupon from the card before you go to the store. The register will automatically deduct the digital coupon as the item is rung up and will not allow the paper coupon later in the transaction. Taking it off your card before you go to the store speeds up the checkout process.

 Digital coupons are one extra tool in the savings arsenal at Kroger! I find digital coupons to be a simple way to add that extra oomph to my shopping. For those I meet that often don't have the time or inclination to cut coupons the way that I do, but still want to save money, digital coupons are one of my top suggestions.
