Can you believe fall is right around the corner? I have to admit, fall is my favorite time of year for fashion and when I think of fall fashion, I immediately conger up images of fabulous boots. Speaking of boots, recently I have had several readers ask me the best way to wear ankle boots, which are boots that stop just around your ankle or a tad above.
Let me start by saying ankle boots are a great fall fashion staple item. You can pair them with skirts, leggings, jeggings or skinny jeans. The most popular way to sport ankle boots are with a pair of skinny jeans. But if you are wanting to try something different, here are my recommendations based on your height:
For the vertically challenged:If you are short (yep, that would be me!) and want to sport the ankle boot trend, I would stick with either leggings, jeggings or skinny jeans since ankle boots tend to make your legs appear shorter. If you match your pants to the color of the boots, this will give you the appearance of having longer legs...isn't that what all of us short ladies wish for? For Taller women:Tall ladies, I feel as though you have more options when it comes to sporting the ankle boot trend. These boots, as mentioned earlier, tend to shorten your legs. But, if you are long legged, fear not and jump on into this trend by pairing the boots with a mini dress, high waisted shorts or a short billowy skirt.
Tips for Everyone:The style of ankle boots can vary greatly. Obviously the higher the heel, the more of a statement you will make. Although sometimes it's just not practical to wear sky-high heels daily. Wearing colorful ankle boots can really spice up a blah outfit and make almost any outfit look chic. Especially if you bring that same color out in other accessories such as a necklace, purse or sunglasses. I suggest staying away from long skirts or anything below the knee. The look just doesn't seem to have the same appeal. So are you looking for some cute ankle boots now that you know how to wear them? The links below coordinate with the pictures shown above.
