It was a pee pee pad kind of a night on Project Runway! Heidi had people contemplating what this challenge could possibly entail as she hinted the designers will need to “unleash” their creativity. And with those words, she surely was not joking.

Literally running into a pet supermarket, the 15 remaining designers scrambled to grab whatever they could on a $300 budget with the challenge of making a head to toe look using only items that were intended for our furry, feathered and scaly friends.

The most popular item snagged hands down were the pee pee pads. (I am wondering if the store even had any in stock after the designers ravaged the place?!)
Once back in the Parsons work room, boy did the fun began! Dog food was spilling, birds seed was scattered all over the floor and most of the designers were in a panic given the short time frame allotted to crank out these unconventional fashions.
I have to say, the beginning of some of these concepts seemed as though they were doomed from the get go. HeLLO Lauren! Did you not think that a queens collar might be a little too short to be used as a skirt? Though I have to admit, after watching this episode, I will never look at pee pee pads in the same light. Who knew you could make such a nice garment such as Viktor, layering the lilac dyed pee pee pads to create a beautifully fitted dress?
Needless to say, this episode was intense from start to finish. We saw everything walk the runway from plastic fish gravel tops, woven dog food bags to Anthony Ryans dress that was completely covered in bird seed. Let’s just hope that model didn’t step outside or she’d be a walking bird feeder.

I was surprised with the judging this episode as it was clear the judges were looking for sophistication over the boisterous. Even though we saw a lot of the models strutting the popular pee pee pad attire, not one of the top three designs had any inkling of pee pee pad in them.
The top three designs the judges choose were of Josh M. with the aquarium rock ensemble, Anthony Ryans walking bird feeder get-up and Oliviers dress constructed of a dog bed combined with hamster bedding, which was selected as the winning look for this challenge.

It was a bad night for Josh C. as he was the unfortunate one of the 15 that heard those words from Heidi. Yes, you got it: Auf Wiedersehen. The use of a pet umbrella and aquarium netting did nothing for the judges. The lack of creativity and the ill-fitting garment did. It lead them to the decision to send poor Josh C. trekking home.
Until next week, (which I hear episode 3 is having their first ever outdoor runway show?! ) have a fabulous fashionable weekend.
