One of the biggest challenges of college dorm living is storage space. If your teen is organizationally challenged, the cramped shared living space can add up to one huge mess. While you can't install traditional closet and clothing organizers into their rooms, there are some options you can use--and they don't cost a ton of money either! Most of these items also qualify for free shipping with Amazon Student. Best of all--if your student starts the year with a place for everything, it makes it easier for them to keep it organized all year long! Hanging closet organizers--these work the same as the traditional closet organizer, only they hang instead of being permanently installed. They attach to the clothing rod with hooks or super-heavy duty velcro, and will help keep your student well organized. Here are some of my favorites:
- Hanging six shelf organizer with side pockets, $12.99
- Neu Home Closet Doubler, $12.99--this creates a second hanging rod in the standard closet, doubling closet storage space!
- Hanging Purse Organizer, $12.28--for the girl who loves her purses!
- Belt/Scarf/Tie organizer--helps keep them organized and easy to find. Also good for hanging necklaces on.
- Hanging six shelf canvas organizer, $16.99--I recommend picking up some fabric drawers at the dollar store or Target, to add some bonus functionality to these hanging shelves.
- Trademark 6-Inch Black Bed Risers, $13.99
- Sterilite 19958004 66-Quart Ultra Underbed Box with Wheels, 4-Pack, $100--This is a four pack of really heavy-duty boxes, that wheel in and out from under the bed to make them work almost like drawers. These are great for the bottom of the closet as well for storing seasonal items.
- Bedside black bed pocket, $9.35
- Room Essentials Bed Caddy, $9.99
