We all have the occasional fashion faux pas. Your lunch lands on your shirt instead of going in your mouth. Even worse, the button on your dress pops off just in time for a formal meeting with clients. These things seem to be inevitable, but with a little bit of preparation, your fashion situation can be less embarrassing or stressful. I compiled a list of must haves to keep with you while you are on the go. Surprisingly, a lot of these items are things you already have that you can just pop into your "emergency fashion kit".

Soap
Soap can not only be great for getting clean but also is a great fix for broken zippers.  If you're having trouble getting your zipper up, rubbing a bar of soap or even a wax candle onto the problem area should help get it to where you can zip it up.

Baby wipes
Baby wipes are not just for babies. They come in handy when you need to remove make up stains on clothing, or at least reduce the visibility of the stain. Another great use for baby wipes, removing lint from clothing. Ah yes, and dirt from shoes not to mention wiping your hands.  I seriously could go on and on about baby wipes. I was buying them way before my son was in the picture.

Hairspray
I don't know about you, but this weather in Cincinnati makes my hair do some pretty crazy things. Once day the humidity is making flat while the next day I have enough static to create electricity for the entire office. (Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the point). I like to keep a trial size bottle in my purse. Did you know hairspray is also great for stocking runs? While I do recommend carrying hairspray with you, I don't recommend aerosol, just in case you accidently leave it in your car on a hot day.

Clear Nail Polish
Clear nail polish is also good for putting an end to stocking runs as well as a great tool for temporarily fixing loose buttons. Dab the top of your button with just a little bit of the polish to prevent it from falling off.

Velcro
Velcro is great to have around in the winter to get pills off of sweaters. All you have to do is rub a piece of Velcro up and down the fabric to remove the pills. Easy enough I'd say!

Instant Krazy Glue
Right when you are going up that last flight of stairs returning to the office from lunch, you hear a loud startling snap. Noooo! It was your heel that separated itself from the sole! That is where Instant Krazy Glue can save the day.

Mini Sewing Kit with Safety Pins
The two great things about a mini sewing kit: not only are they compact but you can usually get them for free from hotels! Just make sure to get a kit that has safety pins or add safety pins to your kit. They are great to temporarily fix fallen hems, small tears and broken straps. I prefer the smaller safety pins because they tend to be less visible.

Pencil
This is another multifunctional item to keep in your fashion emergency kit. Not only do you always have something to write with but you can use the eraser to secure post earrings, just in case your earring back falls off unexpectedly. To keep an earring in place,  take the eraser off the pencil and push the post of your earring through for a quick earring saving fix.

Sharpie marker
Sharpies are good for fixing scratched or scuffed leather. Dab a little bit of the ink on the leather that is scratched or scuffed making sure the color matches as closely as possible.

Tide to Go stick:
This is a given. Spills are inevitable and it's great to be prepared. Tide to Go Sticks are a great save and like most other items on this list, it compact.

Personally, having a fashion emergency kit is a must have. It is inexpensive and can feel like a life saver in a time of need.
