It isn't good news. You can see the writing on the wall, with two major retailers now changing their coupon policies. Now that Target has tightened theirs, it won't be long before others follow suit. You can read the full Target coupon policy here, but here's the highlights of the changes:
- You cannot use a cents off manufacturer coupon with a BOGO manufacturer coupon. You may use one or the other, but not the two together on two items.
- If you use a manufacturer BOGO coupon, you may only use one Target store cents off coupon with it for two items.
Let me show you a scenario with the old policy and then with the new policy so you can see why this is a big change.
Before
Pantene Shampoo, $3.89 x 2 = $7.78
$1/1 Pantene Shampoo manufacturer coupon
and
Buy One Get One Free Pantene products
Pay only $2.89 for both products!
After
Pantene Shampoo, $3.89 x 2 = $7.78
Choose:
A) $1/1 Pantene Shampoo manufacturer coupon
or
B) Buy One Get One Free Pantene products
Using A) use two coupons and pay $5.78 for two
Using B) use one coupon and pay $3.89 for two
I suggest you print out the new Target coupon policy for your binder and get acquainted with it.
