I know you're expecting me to do some advertisement for Pantene, so let me start with this disclaimer: this is 100 percent my honest, true opinion and experience.

You all know how frugal I am. But when it comes to my hair, I'm very finicky. My hair is naturally a very light blonde, stick-straight and as fine as they come. Because of that I have to take really good care of my hair. I can't wash it too often, and I have to use good products or it turns into straw--and that just isn't pretty. I'm not often vain about my looks, but my hair...well, I get very protective of my hair. As my mom has always said, lots of women pay good money to have hair this shade of blonde. So I work hard to protect it!

I've tried lots and lots of expensive products. Aveda, Paul Mitchell, Sebastian and many others. They're all good, and they smell great, but beyond the nice smell, I've not found that they do anything more than what Pantene does for my hair. I just can't justify the extra cost!

With Pantene my hair is clean but not stripped of its natural oils and moisture that protect the hair. When I use the Pantene conditioner, my hair comes out really quite silky. I use a straightening iron daily, and a high-heat setting on my hair dryer--and yet my hair stays nice and silky with the Pantene. Every three to four months I'll use the Pantene deep conditioner with my hair wrapped in a damp hot towel for about ten minutes. That will repair any damage the heat has done to my hair, and it helps keeps my hair silky smooth.

I've also tried all kinds of expensive styling products. I am partial to a few Aveda products to help with the super-fine texture of my hair, but for the most part I end up back at Pantene for mousse and styling gel. I find their products work just as well as most of the pricier brands, and my frugal little heart loves that low price! Especially when you watch for sales and combine with the great coupons available. I can often find Pantene for under $2 a piece--and really, can you ask for more than a great product at a low price?

My personal favorite shampoo and conditioner is the Ice Shine line, but my husband prefers the medium-thick varieties. I like the Ice Shine because it really does leave my fine, blonde hair extra shiny! And because my hair is so fine, I love that it doesn't leave a heavy residue that weighs my hair down. Trust me, a conditioning shampoo line that doesn't weigh fine hair down can be really hard to find! And then so many that fit that bill end up leaving my hair dull. So once I discovered the Ice Shine line, I made sure to stock up!

I do splurge on a great cut from Tanya's Aveda salon every few months. I find that a great cut makes a world of difference. But the Pantene products come at a frugal price, so I can afford to splurge. And when I combine the great cut from my stylist with the cleaning and conditioning of Pantene's Ice Shine line, I can feel good about both my hair and my budget!

This week at the CartBuster Savings Event you can stock up at a great price too--there's a $1/1 digital coupon on Kroger's website, plus Pantene products are on sale. I've already gotten a few and plan on getting more on my next trip!

What's your favorite line of Pantene products?
