PRICE MATCHING: One of the best things about Walmart is its price-matching policy! You can view the Walmart's official price matching policy here, but here's how it basically works:

  • You find an item in another store's ad that is priced lower than the same item at Walmart.
  • Bring the ad from the other store into Walmart and present it at checkout to receive the price match! The item must be the same brand and same size as that advertised in the other store's ad.

The good news:  Walmart will price match "Preferred Shopping Card" prices advertised in other stores' ads. Again, the items must be the same brand and size. Walmart will also require you to present the shopping card from the other store to prove that you would have indeed gotten that item for the lower price had you bought it from that store.  Also, Walmart will still accept manufacturer coupons on items that have been price matched!However, Walmart does not match percentage-off offers or deals that include other stores' coupons or promotions. It also does not price match its own stores. If you live in an area where there is more than one store and your store tends to be higher priced, make the drive to the other Walmart. And, one more thing - the price match must be with a store that's within in a reasonable distance. You cannot bring in Grandma's ad from Tennessee when you live in Ohio!Keep in mind that though this really is a great policy, it may not turn out to be as valuable as getting the item from the original store if you need to double a coupon to save the most. (Walmart doesn't double coupons...see the next section.)MANUFACTURER COUPONS: Walmart accepts manufacturer coupons but does not double them. In fact, Walmart doesn't double any coupons - all coupons presented are scanned and deducted from your total at face value. STORE COUPONS: Walmart does not offer store coupons. PRINTABLE COUPONS: Walmart accepts printable coupons. (Please note these following printable coupon tips are not Walmart-specific). Print your coupons from reliable sources, like from the grocery coupons section of cincysavers.com. Don't ever use coupons that pull up in Microsoft Word or a similar program. Stores do not put out coupons in this manner.OTHER STORES' COUPONS: Walmart does not accept competitor coupons. But they do price match, so see above. You can bring in other stores' ads, just not other stores' coupons.RAIN CHECKS: Walmart offers rain checks when items are out of stock (unless otherwise indicated). Get these as they are your way to making sure you get your products and your savings! This also buys you time to gather more coupons. Walmart rain checks can be obtained at the customer service desk (or at checkout).MARKDOWNS: Walmart always has markdowns throughout the store.
