STORE LOYALTY PROGRAM: If you don't have a Kroger Plus Card, please don't tell me - I can't bear the thought. Instead, fix that and get one...now! This is your first defense to fighting higher prices at Kroger. Please note that you do not need to carry this card with you. The cashier can use your telephone number to call it up at checkout.MANUFACTURER COUPONS: Kroger accepts unlimited double manufacturer coupons. This means that if you have five of the same coupon, it will double all five. With this said, each store reserves the right to limit coupons. Limitations occur mostly during the Mega Event sales, when people come in and practically clear the shelves.  STORE COUPONS: Kroger offers store coupons. By registering your Kroger Plus Card and making sure your address is up to date, you can ensure these coupons will make their way to your mailbox. (You can register here to receive store coupons or register by calling 1-866-221-4141.) These coupons will arrive via booklets and perforated coupon sheets. The sheets are based on your purchases while the booklets are based on the time of year, recipes, etc. Keep in mind that store coupons do not double. Also, just because it comes from Kroger does not mean it's a store coupon. Always check the coupon to determine if it's a store or manufacturer coupon.PRINTABLE COUPONS: Kroger accepts printable coupons. (Please note these following printable coupon tips are not Kroger-specific). Print your coupons from reliable sources, like from the grocery coupons section  of cincysavers.com. Don't ever use coupons that pull up in Microsoft Word or a similar program. Stores do not put out coupons in this manner.ELECTRONIC COUPONS: Kroger accepts electronic coupons that can be added to your Kroger card. By simply creating accounts, you can select the coupons you'd like to add and hit the add button. Within 20-60 minutes, they are active and ready for use. These are great coupons even for those that don't like to "coupon" (I know....shudder at the thought!). Please note that these are a one-time only type of coupon. If they reset, you can read, but otherwise, know that you can only place it on your card once. The only way to remove these coupons once added is to use them or wait for them to expire. Electronic coupons do not double and they cannot be stacked with (paper) manufacturer coupons.OTHER STORES' COUPONS: Kroger does not accept competitor coupons.RAIN CHECKS: Kroger offers rain checks when items are out of stock (unless otherwise indicated). Get these as they are your way to making sure you get your products and your savings! This also buys you time to gather more coupons. Kroger rain checks can be obtained at the customer service desk and are valid for one month from the date of issue.PROMOTIONS: Kroger is known for their AWESOME Mega Events. During these sales, you can expect to get a certain dollar amount off your order when you purchase the specified number of items. For example, they may say, "Get $5 off when you buy 10 participating items." This equates to $.50 off per item and coupons can be - and of course should be -matched to this sale. When shopping these sales, you can mix and match your way to savings. Kroger also hosts 10 for $10 sales. An important note on these sales is to know that you do not have to purchase 10 of a certain item. You can purchase just one and get it for $1!MARKDOWNS: Kroger stores tend to mark down their donuts in the bakery section each evening. They have a marked down meat area and most stores (especially Marketplace stores) have an area of marked down household items and decor (LOVE this area)!GAS REWARDS: By having the Kroger Plus Card, you can earn gas rewards. You can redeem these for up to $1 off a gallon at a Kroger gas station or $.10 off a gallon at any Shell station. You can also earn $.10 off a gallon each time you spend $100, purchase $50 in gift cards or get two new or transferred prescriptions at the pharmacy.
