I'm seriously kicking myself right now. I just discovered that we have fantastic coupons to one of my favorite restaurants in our local coupons section and I DIDN'T KNOW IT! My husband and I went out to eat on New Year's Day at the Claddagh at Newport on the Levee. It is one of our favorite places to hang-out in. If only I'd known about the coupons!
My husband is British, and we spent our honeymoon in Ireland. So we naturally gravitate towards pubs--and the Claddagh is one of our favorites. It is very authentic in its decor--very much like many of the pubs we visited in Dublin and Cork. It feels like there is a room--and a table--for every season and every get together. Out on a romantic date during the winter? Cozy up next to one of the stone fireplaces. Wanting to have a good natter (chat) with friends? Pick one of the large booths designed for 'nattering' away. During the summer we will often begin with dinner inside at one of the tables, then move outside with our friends to the beer garden, which has a fantastic view of the city!
Because my husband is British and I've eaten many, many times in the homeland, I can tell you with authority that their Irish and British dishes are quite good! Their fish and chips are fantastic--and a HUGE portion!  We often bring part of it home for a second meal.  Their stew is fantastic, as is their Shepherd's Pie.  The bread pudding and the Sherry Trifle are both delicious and very much like what we'd have in Ireland.  The full Irish breakfast is also very good.  Don't think the other dishes on the menu are Americanized--I saw a lot of those on the pub menus in Galway and Dublin when we were there!  And when it comes to their beer selection, they have quite a few of the best from Ireland and England.  By the way, they also are one of the best places to watch international soccer, especially English Premiere League or European Championship matches.  They've also introduced a new $5.99 lunch menu, which goes well with the free lunch parking at the Levee on weekdays.  Why have McDonald's when you can have a plate of fish and chips?  Now if I could only convince them to have sausage rolls or steak and ale pie on the menu....we'd be there all the time!  If they offered pork pies I do believe my husband would move in...LOL.
Now, back to why I'm kicking myself. We were just there this weekend, and I didn't have any of these coupons!  Check these out--I have a feeling we're going to be there a lot on Mondays!
  • Buy One Get One Free Fish and Chips on Monday nights
  • Buy One Get One Free Burgers on Tuesday nights
  • Buy two entrees, get one dessert free (seriously could have used that the other night!)
  • Buy two entrees, get one appetizer free
Make sure to check our local coupons section often--new coupons appear all the time!  Here's some other local favorites you might want to check out in our dining coupons section:  Papa John's, Cafe Mediterranean, Jersey Mike's, Izzy's, Bartini, Ambar India, Boi Na Braza and many others!
